FAQ

Want to join MEDS?

We hope this page will answer some of your questions.

MEDS is a truly international workshop, attracting a diverse range of people from more than 60 countries (18+ years old). The majority of participants are designers with backgrounds in architecture, product design, graphic design, fashion design, design thinking and other related fields. However, all students and young professionals are welcome to participate in MEDS, regardless of their background. Only your love for design is required!

Yes, MEDS is open for anyone who is interested in design and feels able to contribute to the events or the network.

Yes, all participants will receive a “Certificate of Attendance”, which can be used as a proof for your professional development at MEDS.

We follow a communal approach, where participants sleep communally with little privacy and are expected to bring their own sheets and towels. Showers and toilets are shared and there may be problems with hot water or water pressure. People sometimes are not happy about these things but it has never been such a problem to make somebody leave the event. Participants should remember that the organisers are trying their best and not be too harsh with them.

Given that the detailed scheduled has not yet been finalized, keep in mind that the workshop hours are approximately 8-10 hours per day.

Allergies and other special dietary needs will be taken into account before the event so we can adapt the menu to your needs.

The participation fee covers the cost of workshop, accommodation, work materials and 2 meals per day (breakfast and dinner). Lunch is not included.

Together with your acceptance email from MEDS as participant, tutor, or helper you will receive the exact payment information. While transferring the money please note the following: The amounts payable mentioned above exclude the transfer fees assigned by the bank that need to be covered fully by you.

MEDS is unable to assist with travel or participation costs.

You will need to let us know by sending email to the Organizing Team. However, we cannot offer any discount to the participation fee.

Based on previous MEDS Workshops, the applications to become a tutor at MEDS Workshop are usually released November to January of each year, with submission deadlines around January/February.

Applications to become participants and helpers at MEDS Workshop typically open between February and April. During this period, you will be asked to fill in a google form with your data, answer questions about your motivation for joining the event, as well as design an entry assignment in connection with the event’s theme.

Please do remember that this is a guideline, which may vary for future events. So make sure to keep an eye on our website and our social media pages to not miss the call announcements and deadlines.

Head to the Contact page and contact the MEDS Communication team or your local National Contact, a person who either is from the country you live, or studies there, and serves as the first point of contact for you.
